A group of outdoor swimmers at Lairg took a cool dip for a “Twixmas challenge” to raise money for children with cancer.

The five female members of Loch Shin Swimmers, who meet regularly to swim in the chilly waters, made a special effort for the cause on December 29.

The water temperature was around five degrees Celsius and there was even a flurry of snow as the swimmers emerged from the loch. Hot drinks, chocolate and cake were well-deserved in order to warm up afterwards!

The “Twixmas Cold Water Dip Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer” has raised almost £900 at the last count. The charity supports children and young people under 25, and their families, in their fight against the disease.

The group would like to thank everyone who has donated.
