Wartime remains that can be found in the Cromarty Firth are the subject of a talk organised by Tain and Easter Ross Civic Trust on Tuesday, October 18.

Susan Kruse of Archaeology for the Communities in the Highlands (ARCH) will highlight the major impact World War 2 had in the north of Scotland and talk about the wartime remains in the Cromarty Firth, based on work carried out over the last decade.

Trust chairman, Richard Littlewood said: "The area was once a restricted zone with extensive building works, much of which can still be seen today. Other buildings still in use were taken over by the military. The social impact on the area was huge as well.”
