Visitors to Landmark Forest Adventure Park have been delighted to become amongst the first to jump with joy on the new treetop-net attraction ‘NetworX’.

Several thousand visitors have now had the opportunity since its weekend opening to test out their agility on the giant net complex installed on four different levels in the forest at the popular Carrbridge attraction.

Marketing manager Ross Coulter said: “This was an absolute delight to see as it has been a long time coming!

“We have had this amazing attraction ready to go for several months but due to shortages of staff we haven’t been able to open it.

“At last, we have been able to offer this to our members and day visitors and what a success it has been.

“Visitor feedback has been overwhelming. Our staff have been asking participants what they thought and 100 per cent of the response was massively favourable – across all age groups.

“Many visitors came back later for another go as it was so much fun. This is the gold standard for attractions – people repeating during the same visit!”

Mr Coulter added: “The structure is sited in an area of forest close to the Dinosaur Kingdom attraction and is set between six and eight metres off the forest floor. The four main nets are interlinked with aerial net walkways and is designed to give visitors a fabulous bouncy adventure experience high up in the trees.”

Coming in with a cost of more than £526,000 all in, NetworX was designed and produced especially for Landmark by Dutch company Funcha, and is the only hanging net structure of its type in Scotland.

NetworX is suitable for almost every age from toddlers to super-seniors subject to ability. Landmark is also adding an all-ability net near to the main complex.

General manager Danny Fullerton said: “This is part of a large investment on new attractions currently being installed at the park. In addition to NetworX, we are also completely replacing our Red Squirrel Nature Trail with a unique interpretive project titled ‘The Ancient Forest Adventure’.

“When completed, this £500,000 project will tell an epic story covering thousands of years of life, death, extinction and future re-wilding of our ancient pine forest.

“The first phase including a beautiful new boardwalk trail and seven attractive exhibition station structures is already complete. The actual exhibitions component should be in place for March 2023 opening.”

“Winter visitors should also look out for more events including a Christmas Special Weekend complete with Santa and his Reindeer coming soon.

“There are also some very special winter illuminations being added to the Ancient Forest Adventure trail.”
