Runners up and down the country – and across the globe – are getting ready to run through some of the world’s most stunning scenery this October, and there’s still time to join them.

Organisers have announced the last chance to sign up for the Baxters River Ness 10K and 5K – as well as the 10K Corporate Challenge – at the landmark 20th Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running.

Registration is open until midnight on September 26.

Keen long-distance runners can also sign up for the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, with places still available for club and international runners, members of Scottish Athletics, or those raising funds for charity.

Race director Malcolm Sutherland said: “As we approach the 20th Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running, we can feel excitement rippling through the running community.

“Now more than ever, we are aware of the benefits of getting outside and ensuring we’re not cooped up indoors for too long. What better way to do that than by traversing some of the most challenging and beautiful roads there are?”

Recently named by industry title Runners Tribe as one of the “best marathons you should have on your bucket list,” the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon is widely regarded as one of the most scenic 26.2 miles in the world. And its sister races – the Baxters River Ness 10K and 5K – also offer stunning views.
