Kyle of Sutherland set for four days of fun as gala weekend kicks off tonight

The Kyle of Sutherland Gala weekend kicks off today with Ardross Pipe band playing from 8pm, starting at the Bonar Bridge Hall and marching down to the Kyle Bakery, writes Elissa Steven.

Friday has paddleboarding for over 18 ladies, a flower festival and pancake day at Creich Church, book fair in Ardgay Hall, duck race at the River Shin, BBQ, and pub quiz at Invershin Hotel.

Saturday sees the second day of the flower festival, along with a flower and vegetable show at Ardgay Hall, silent disco (nursery to P7), Rosehall Local History Exhibition in Rosehall Village Hall and a dance to PJ Stone & Wood.

Sunday has a fun family yoga session at Invershin Hall, Songs of Praise at Creich Church and a Big Badminton Bash at Ardgay Hall.

The last day on Monday is jampacked with kids cookery, Community Food Stop cafe, a kids film (P1-P7), a silent disco (P7-S6) and a social run with the Kyle of Sutherland Joggers in Culrain.

Also running all weekend is a car treasure hunt (forms from the Hub) and a family woodland Trail from Culrain Hall.

Programmes are for sale in the local shops: Kyle Bakery, Pharmacy and Niki's hair salon.

The gala management committee can be contacted by private messenger via their Facebook page and are happy to answer any questions.

Funding for the Gala's own events have been awarded by Creich Community Council and Ardgay & District Community Council and is greatly appreciated.

Also donations for the disco and film have been received from Asda and Tesco Tain community champions.
