Kyle of Sutherland Fisheries is once again running a charity auction and some great lots are up for grabs.

All proceeds from the auction will go towards restoring native riverbank woodland habitats to boost climate resilience.

The fisheries say that summer heatwaves are threatening critically endangered freshwater pearl mussels as well as trout and Atlantic salmon.

A spokesman said: "Rivers in the Kyle of Sutherland area are some of the most vulnerable to global warning."

The fisheries is part of a national initiative called Riverwoods which aims to restore native riverbank woodlands to create shade to keep rivers cool.

So far, 60 lots have been donated, ranging from football tickets to food, drink and fly fishing. There are plenty of experiences to bid for from deer stalking at Forneth Estate, to a half-day wildlife safari at Glen Cassley.

There is even a chance to stay at an apartment in Klosters, Switzerland of in a ski chalet in the Grand Massif.

You can contribute to the fundraiser without making a bid - there is an option to make donations.

The fisheries hope that the auction will raise at least £25,000 and earlier this week £4,400 had already been pledged.

The charity auction is live until Halloween and anyone interested should click here to visit the site where all the lots can be seen. There is also a full explanation on the site about how to make a bid or a donation.
