Ben Wyvis Cycle Club has declared itself proud to host the first round of the 2022/23 Scottish Cyclocross series at the Black Isle Showground in Muir of Ord on Sunday.

The course is a flat-out blast round areas of the showground and adjacent heath and woodland with plenty of challenging features, tight twisty turns and fast open sections to promote great CX racing.

Competitors will be competing from across Scotland in 10 categories, from U8 to 60+ vets, with women and men in every category.

Racing starts at 9.15am with the young ones heading off, culminating in the senior races at 2.15pm.

Around 200 riders are expected to take part in what promises to be a great start to the Cyclocross season.

Organisers have confirmed the event is going ahead in accordance with guidance from British Cycling and Buckingham Palace on local sporting events during the period of national mourning following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

As a mark of respect, a short address will be made by the Chief Commissaire followed by a minute’s silence before each batch of races.
