A ferryman who downloaded more than 2500 videos and still images of young children and kept them on his computer and a storage device will be sentenced next month.

Keith Williams (50), of Culag Gardens, Lochinver, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court on Friday and admitted the offence, committed between July 1, 2016 and June 8, 2021, as well as breaching a bail condition by secretly having a mobile phone.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing an extreme image of bestiality involving a man and a dog.

Of the 832 videos found on his devices, 561 were of the most graphic and obscene kind. Of the 1734 still images, 371 were of the highest category of depravity.

The images were of boys and girls aged between four years old and 13.

Fiscal depute David Morton said another eight images had been printed out onto paper.

Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald deferred sentence until September 23 for background and sex offender's programme reports. Williams was immediately placed on the Sex Offender's Register and his bail was continued.
