Caledonian Sleeper breaks down in Fife causing disruption to trains between Inverness and Edinburgh, ScotRail has warned

A BROKEN down sleeper train has caused disruption to railway passengers travelling between Inverness and Edinburgh this morning.

The 4.39am Sleeper train from Edinburgh to Aberdeen broke down on the line somewhere between Kirkcaldy and Markinch.

Although ScotRail has confirmed that the train sent to assist and the broken down service are "now on the move" and services are "now returning to normal" they warned that some delays are "ongoing".

Disruption is expected to last until around 10am.
