A HIGHLAND based minister with strong international links has been announced as the main speaker at Sutherland Christian Convention this weekend.
Rev Dr Ian Hamilton will give talks on Authentic Christian Discipleship.
Based in Inverness, where he is associate minister of Smithton Culloden Free Church, Rev Dr Hamilton began his ministry at Newmilns Church of Scotland, Ayrshire, in 1979. After serving there for 20 years, he moved to Cambridge Presbyterian Church until 2016.
He is currently president and professor of historical theology at Westminster Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
He is also a trustee of the evangelical, non-profit publishing house Banner of Truth and editor of its magazine, as well as serving on the governing board of Greenville Theological Seminary in the USA, where he is an adjunct professor. He is in addition an occasional lecturer at Edinburgh Theological Seminary.
A well-known conference speaker, he has written a number of books including Words from the Cross.
In his talk he will address what makes a Christian different and what the outcomes are for Christians and for the wider world.

The convention takes place in Dornoch Academy from Friday to Sunday, September 1-3.
