A joyous return to the Thunder in the Glen took place yesterday in glorious sunshine.

Hundreds of spectators gathered along Aviemore High Street for the noon procession and they weren't disappointed as, for over half an hour, thousands of magnificent Harley-Davidsons and their like proceeded on their way to Grantown and beyond in a graceful parade.

The atmosphere was one of celebration after the Covid years which saw the event, along with most others across the region, cancelled.

"It's good to see this happening again – and without a hitch," agreed Sgt Graeme Erskine as he blocked the traffic waiting to get to Grampian Road.

There they go!
There they go!

"They're waiting patiently as they know the main drag here has been closed off for the big rally. Nobody's complaining...yet at least!"

Estimates of the final entries for the ride-out grew as it passed by but it's currently been put at around 4,000 which would certainly make it the biggest of all time in the three decades of 'Thunder'.
