Staff from the Loch Ness Clansman Hotel picked up a top industry award recently.

A hotel overlooking Loch Ness was named a winner at an awards ceremony to showcase and reward outstanding service in Scotland’s hotel industry.

Loch Ness Clansman Hotel took the title of best three-star hotel at Scotland’s Prestige Hotel Awards.

It was also one of two runners-up which were highly recommended in the Scotland’s best dining experience category.

The 26-room hotel is part of the Cobbs hotel group which also includes Loch Ness Country House Hotel, Loch Ness Lodge and Loch Ness Drumnadrochit in its portfolio.

Scotland’s Prestige Hotel Awards are voted for by the public.

The winners were announced at a ceremony in the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow.

The event, hosted by Des Clarke, was attended by more than 600 industry professionals. Receiving the awards for the Loch Ness Clansman were the hotel’s general manager Adam McMaster, head chef Graeme Miller and head housekeeper Carol Quick.

“We are absolutely delighted to receive these accolades in both the best three-star hotel and also in the dining experience categories,” Mr McMaster said.

“We were up against some seriously impressive opposition, and to be mentioned in the same sentence as some of the premier hospitality venues in the country is a wonderful honour.

“It’s a true testament to the fantastic team – without them it’s only a building.

“The past couple of years have seen significant refurbishment and upgrades to the Loch Ness Clansman, which coupled with our location and the best view in the country, is nice to be recognised.”

The Loch Ness Clansman was one of 17 finalists for the best hotel award. The Taychreggan Hotel at Taynuilt and Pierhouse Hotel at Port Appin were highly recommended in the same category.

The winner in the dining experience category was Cameron House at Loch Lomond.

Loch Ness Country House Hotel was a finalist in Scotland’s best four star hotel category and in Scotland’s best dining experience category.
