It was an event pupils in a north coast school were looking forward to immensely.

Farr Primary School celebrated its Shield Day - equivalent to a sports day - last Wednesday, June 15.

House captain Kieran Dooner was presented with the coveted shield by P4-7 teacher Eilidh Munro. Also pictured are team members: Isabella Mackenzie, Megan Maclean, Harry Maclean, Paige Mackay, Scott Drennan, Zach Matheson, Eliza Mackenzie and Lilly Mackay.

And the school’s house teams enthusiastically battled it out to win the handsome Jeanette Mackay Game Shield.

There was a variety of challenging contests including the longest handstand, crossing the river and a welly toss.

Team-mates cheered each other on during a fun-filled day. At the end of the day, Hope was the victorious team.
