Homes and businesses hit by power outage in Tain

Homes from Tain to Edderton have been left without power due to an unplanned Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) outage.

The fault, which was reported to SSEN at 11:49 am, has impacted 15 postcodes in the IV19 region, including IV19 1JU, 1JX, 1JY, 1JZ, 1LA, 1LB, 1LD, 1LE, 1LF, 1LG, 1LH, 1LJ, 1LN, 1LQ and 1NL.

The outage has left several businesses without power, including Tain restaurant Meikle Ferry Station who took to social media to notify its customers that it would have to close for the day.

SSEN has stated that power is expected to be restored by mid-afternoon.
