Caretakers of a historic Assynt church have revealed that a new heating system has finally been installed after three years of waiting.

Historic Assynt secretary Dave McBain said: “We’re very pleased to report that a new system has finally been installed in the Inchnadamph Kirk and the Assynt archive will be nice and toasty over the winter this year.”

Inchnadamph Kirk is finally cosy and warm after years with a faulty heating system.

The work was made possible thanks to a donation from a local individual, who wants to remain anonymous and Tesco Bags of Help.

Mr McBain said it had been a “real saga” since the previous system broke down with supplier after supplier promising to fix it, and charging each time, but then saying the entire system would need replacing.

“Eventually Certas Energy stepped up to the plate and we got the system operational this month,” he said.
