Met Office warns of snow and ice in the Highlands

SNOW and ice may bring travel disruption to the Highlands from tomorrow evening, according to the latest weather warning issued by the Met Office.

It covers a period lasting from 9pm tomorrow until 10am on Thursday and, as well as the Highlands, the yellow warning covers most of Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England.

Travel by road and rail services could be affected with longer journey times taken by road, bus and trains.

Pedestrians are being urged to take care to avoid injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

There will probably be some icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
