Highland Wildlife Centre in Brora invites supporters to join in Brora to Golspie Walk for Wildlife
Highland Wildlife Rescue based in Brora, is inviting its supporters to put their best foot forward and help to raise funds to care for the sick and injured wildlife from across the Highlands.
Over the weekend of September 6-7, the charity will be holding a sponsored walk called Walk for Wildlife, covering a six-mile route along the coastal path between Brora and Golspie.
This gentle stroll takes in mainly flat paths and coastal tracks, winding through meadows and along grassy tracks and beaches with stunning views across the Moray Firth.
Walkers will pass the iconic fairy-tale-like Dunrobin castle, an ancient broch, white cliffs and a pretty waterfall along the way.
Refreshment options at both the start and end of the walk in Brora and Golspie include ice cream parlours, cafes, and restaurants. There are also toilet facilities.
All members of the family can take part, and there are no set start or finish times, so walkers can go at their own pace.
While there is no entry fee, the charity is asking walkers to raise funds by encouraging family and friends to sponsor them.
Any amount raised will be appreciated and help their wild patients.
A specially designed, limited-edition Walk for Wildlife T-shirt is also available for walkers to show their support for the charity during the walk. Supporters can also purchase the T-shirt to help promote the walk and raise awareness of the charity's work. It is available here: https://www.kstm.co.uk/hwr.
All proceeds will go towards the charity's day-to-day running costs for caring for sick and injured wildlife from all over the Highlands.
If you can't make the official walk due to the date or distance from Brora, don't worry! Everyone is encouraged to arrange a walk to suit themselves: a different route or date, over a week, a virtual event, a group walk or dog walk.
