A date has been set for this year's Durness Highland Gathering, the group's committee have confirmed.

The Durness Highland Gathering Association will hold their 2022 games on July 29 at Shore Park in Durness, with further detail to be confirmed.

The gathering returns following a two year hiatus, after both the 2020 and 2021 games were postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The games will be held for a 50th time since they were revived in 1970.

Durness Highland Gathering Association spokesperson Alistair Morrison said: "We are delighted to announce that we have started to plan for holding the 2022 Games on Friday, July 29 at 12pm, Shore Park, Durness.

"We look forward to welcoming old and new friends to our friendly games. Any enquiries should be sent to secretary@durnesshighlandgathering.co.uk."
