Regional flood alerts were issued by SEPA across three areas in the Highlands, with four local flood warnings also in place.

Caithness and Sutherland, Easter Ross and the Great Glen as well as Nairnshire will be impacted by adverse weather, and flood warnings for Helmsdale to Embo, from Rosemarkie to Avoch, and from Rockfield to Balintore are in place.

High tides and strong winds are set to impact coastal areas, with SEPA advising people in the area to avoid exposed coastlines.

When a flood warning is issued, people in the area should remain alert and vigilant and make early preparations for potential flooding according to SEPA.

This comes as a yellow warning for rain has been extended to Monday for areas in the northeast, impacting also part of the A9 between Blair Atholl and Perth.
