Helping young people with option choices – support for parents and carers
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is hosting a webinar for parents and carers to find out more about how SDS can help their young person make their S2/3 option choices at school.
Scotland’s careers service has organised the virtual session on Wednesday, December 7, at 6.30pm which will give parents and carers information about accessing a wide range of SDS support to begin these important conversations with their young person.
Careers advisers Erin Bartley and Gordon Armstrong will be providing expert advice for parents and carers of young people in S2 and S3.
Gordon said: "Thinking about what options to choose at school can be daunting for young people and their parents and carers. This is an excellent opportunity to find out about the support on offer and to get tips on discussing choices with your young person.
"SDS also has an Option Choices tool on our careers website, My World of Work, which helps pupils explore where options choices can take them."
This virtual event, which is from 6.30pm until 7.15pm, will also give attendees the opportunity to put their questions to careers advisers on the night.
