A GUIDED coastal walk is taking place in north-west Sutherland next week as part of High Life Highland's 2022 programme of activities.

Join the countryside ranger on Wednesday, September 21, for a 4km walk through Clachtoll, a crofting township rich in wildlife and steeped in history.

The walk will lead to Clachtoll broch, which dates back to the Iron Age.

Along the way participants will hear about about the new discoveries made at the recent broch excavation and stories of how the iron age people lived and the catastrophic collapse that ended it all.

There is also the chance of spotting skuas, great -northern divers, gannets and grey seals as well as departing migrants such as whimbrel.

Anyone interested in joining the walk should bring a packed lunch and meet at Clachtoll Beach car park.
