Staff and pupils at Tongue Primary School are celebrating gaining their fourth Eco-Schools accreditation.
Eco-Schools is operated internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and delivered in Scotland by Keep Scotland Beautiful.
Its purpose is to teach pupils about the environment and how to look after it.
The school worked towards its latest award by focussing on litter and waste; biodiversity; and water.
Pupils took part in litter picks around the village, taking rubbish back to school to sort and recycle.
They worked hard planting vegetables and wildflowers in the school garden as well as 150 trees along the playground fence line.
And they looked at ways to help save water and keep waterways clean.
Tongue principal teacher Dee Roberts said: “The whole school is part of the Eco Committee and we meet for an hour every second Friday.
“We also had specific people doing important jobs over the year.
“Connie Gordon and Inga Reid did spot checks to make sure we were not using too much electricity and Mia Martin, Millie Keith and Jack Holmes made sure we recycled correctly and put the right things in the right bins.”
Ms Roberts added: “Now that we have secured our green flag, we are excited about our future projects. We are keen to keep up the local community litter picks and are looking forward to focussing on climate change and energy.”
