Funding was sourced from both Gordonbush and Kilbraur wind farm community benefit funds.

Club member Becky Shaw said: "We would really like to thank both Gordonbush for their funding support and also Kilbraur for its assistance with events and equipment."

The event, which takes place every three years, runs from June 27 to July 2.

Thirty-one clubs from Scotland are taking part along with 17 from the Netherlands, three Irish clubs and a handful of clubs from other parts of the world.

The Golspie community has got behind the team with Golspie Village posting on its page: "We wish you all the best."

A large number of messages of support and best wishes have also been posted on the club's Facebook page.

A well-wisher also left a wooden slab in the club's skiff on which was carved "Go for it Golspie", along with two skiffs.

The club said: "A huge thank-you to the mystery artist who left this good luck charm in our skiff. The whole club are delighted with it. It's coming to the Netherlands with us for luck."

You can follow the club's progress in the championships on its Facebook page.
