Sutherland Care Forum has received a £200 donation from a Golspie family.

Angela Grant, Seaforth Road, visited the forum’s Main Street office last week to hand over a cheque in person to service manager Isobel Murray.

The money came from donations made by mourners at the funeral of Ms Grant’s aunt, Barbara Macpherson, East Millicent Avenue, who died on January 20 after a short illness.

Her funeral service took place on February 10.

Mrs Murray said it was the first donation of its kind to the forum.

She said: “It is the first time we have received money from a funeral collection and we are grateful to Angela for supporting us.”

Sutherland Care Forum represents local service users and unpaid carers in East and Central Sutherland.

Its aim is to identify issues and gaps in care service provision, passing these issues on to the relevant agencies and undertaking the development of new services to address unmet needs.

For an informal chat to find out more about the services the forum can offer, ring its office number 01408 634171.
