A popular Sutherland community cafe is donating surplus funds to five local organisations.

Rogart group Coffee and a Blether, which operates out of Rogart Hall and recently celebrated its third anniversary, is to hand over £100 to each of the groups.

Set to benefit are Rogart CommunityCouncil, Rogart Development Trust, Rogart Scottish Women’s Institute, Rogart Gala Committee and Sutherland Care Forum’s Footcare Service.

Madeleine Seaby of Coffee and a Blether paid tribute to the cafe’s volunteers and customers.

She said: “All of this is only possible because of the support and generosity of the café’s customers. So thank you to everyone who returns month after month and has supported the

cafe and eaten cake, all for the benefit of the community.”

She added: “But none of it would happen without the dedicated volunteers who give their time every month to supply the café

with home baking and organise and run the café. So I would like to everyone in the team for all their hard work.”

Coffee and a Blether normally operates on the third Thursday of the month.
