A MEMORIAL tractor run – called trA8tors EUAnite – is set to take place in north-west Sutherland on Saturday.

The fundraiser is in memory of Euan MacRae of Culkein who died from bowel cancer in 2017 at the age of just 19.

His childhood friend James Morrison organised the first run in 2018 and took inspiration for the name from the distinctive number plate on Euan's beloved Vauxhall van.

More than 50 tractors took part in the first run, which raised £11,100 for Macmillan cancer services at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

A second run was held in 2019 and a scaled down event was held in 2020 because of Covid restrictions. A further £2,138 was raised then.

Mr Morrison posted on the TrA8tors EUAnite social media page: "The plan is to do the same route as usual, leaving Lochinver sharp at 10am with lunch provided by all participants in Drumbeg.

"This will be followed by a spin into Culkein, Drumbeg, passing by Euan's house, then photos in Stoer and ending with a parade through Lochinver, finishing on the pier."
