ImpACT helps communities in the most impoverished parts of the world set up simple and low-cost projects to meet local needs.

The collection taken at the Advent Carol Service will go towards providing clean birth kits - a simple kit containing essential items for conducting a clean birth - to expectant mothers in developing countries.

A major cause of maternal death in developing countries is infection due to birthing conditions and the lack of access to clean supplies.

Anyone planning to attend the service is asked to enter the cathedral by its west door and to bring a facemask.

The Rotary Club is also to hold a bingo and quiz night in aid of the same charity at Brora Golf Club on St Andrew’s Day - Tuesday, November 30.

The evening begins at 6.30pm and entry is £5 per person with the ticket price including a light buffet. You can pay at the door or to reserve a place, email Simon Scott: ihssimonscott@gmail.com
