A VOLUNTEER group that exists to support Sutherland's hospital is seeking new members.

The Lawson Cambusavie Memorial Hospital Friends (LCMHF) fundraises to provide much needed items that the cash-strapped NHS cannot buy for the Lawson Memorial Hospital and the adjacent Cambusavie Unit at Golspie.

In 2020 the charity purchased a bariatric wheelchair and a Sara Stedy - a new enhanced standing aid - for the hospital after consultation with staff.

The Friends are now seeking to increase their number.

A post on social media states: "Being a friend is neither time consuming or burdensome. But it is a great way of helping our local hospital, which serves pan-Sutherland.

"It is also extraordinarily rewarding."

Anyone who might be able to help, even in the smallest of ways, is asked to get in touch with LCMHF secretary Kathleen Cunningham. Email: kathleenbraco@gmail.com.
