A NEW counselling service – free to residents living anywhere in Sutherland – has been launched.

The confidential service has been established by the Dornoch Firth Group with funding from Highland Council’s Regeneration Fund. It is being delivered by professional counsellors.

Charles Minall, of the Dornoch Firth Group, said: “We ran a pilot last year and delivered 346 counselling sessions in 10 months. The project worked well.

“This year we are covering the whole of Sutherland and would like to reach as many people as possible. Our counsellors are experienced in helping with a wide range of issues.”

He continued: “The sessions are mainly over the phone or on video call, sometimes face to face for which travel costs can be reclaimed. It is widely recognised that one to one counselling by phone or video call is very successful."

Anyone interested in accessing the service is invited to call or text 07354854266; or email: findyourspacecounselling@gmail.com; or fill in the contact form on: www.dfgcommunity.com/counselling

The service will respond within 24 hours with appointments in a short timeframe.
