Scottish groups The Bay City Rollers, Be Like Pablo, Torridon and Clanadonia to play at maiden Forres Family Fest in 2024
A QUARTET of Scottish bands are set to play at the first running of the Forres Family Fest in 2024.
The Bay City Rollers will be joined by Torridon, Be Like Pablo and Clanadonia at the festival, which will take place at Mosset Park on June 29.
The one-day event is being organised by Andy Macdonald, who runs Elgin festival MacMoray, in partnership with Sandy Aird from Forres Mechanics. It will raise money for the football club.
The Bay City Rollers and Torridon both played at the 2023 running of MacMoray Festival and have been enticed back to Moray.
The Bay City Rollers, formed in 1964, broke into the mainstream in the middle of the 1970s with hits such as 'Bye Bye, Baby', 'Give a Little Love' and Scottish football favourite 'Shang-A-Lang'.
Torridon – formed in Ross-shire in 2005 – are best known for their song Highland Girl. Be Like Pablo – fronted by Ewan Watson – are power-pop group from Forres, while Clanadonia will provide a drum and pipe vibe.
Be Like Pablo will be playing in front of their hometown crowd for the first time in a decade.
In addition to the bands, the festival has also announced that Herchers Funfair will be in attendance to keep youngsters entertained.
The event will boast a large outdoor main stage, along with a large bar and various stalls.
Tickets for the festival went on sale yesterday, Friday, November 10. A deposit costs £5 and the remaining cash (£15) will not need to be paid until February.
Cheaper tickets will be available for under 12s. Tickets will be selling online and via 01309 679613.
Andy Macdonald thanked new sponsors J Gordon Williamson for helping to keep the ticket prices low.
"They have allowed us to keep prices low," he said. "They have also allowed us to add great value to our line-up for this amazing fundraiser event."
