Highland Council is advertising the chance to operate the boating pond at Whin Park in Inverness.

It comes after it was drained so that workers could complete a clean-up of the area and to manage and control an invasive non-native weed species found in the pond.

A council spokesman said: "As the operator, you'll have the opportunity to provide visitors with a fun, memorable boating experience. Twenty boats for use by the successful applicant will be supplied by the council.

"The lease terms are negotiable, and we're open to discussing your ideas and plans for the concession. Whether you're an experienced business owner or just starting out, this is a fantastic opportunity to operate a concession in a high-profile location."

The council is inviting offers over £2000 per year on a proposed five-year term.

No other goods or services can be offered for sale without council permission.
