Organisers of the Sutherland Show say they are thrilled to have secured a fly-past for the event.

An RAF Lancaster will fly over the showground at around 3pm on show day – Saturday, July 22 – although the event is dependent on weather conditions.

The main ring attraction for 2023 is Galcantray Clydesdales, from Cawdor, a heavy horse display which regularly competes at the Royal Highland Show and has recently competed at the World Clydesdale Show held in Aberdeen.

A spokesman for the show said: “We will also have our usual pipe band, children sports, sheepdog display, vintage display and lots more in the main ring.

"But it won’t be just the ring that is busy, there will also be lots of trade and craft stands as well as displays for people to browse round and, of course, the funfair."

The day will be rounded off with a dance in the evening to Cherry Crumble.

On the agricultural side, organisers are delighted to report that entries are looking very healthy for all sections, cattle sheep and horses. Today is the last day for entries.

Last year’s winners are being asked to ensure the trophies are returned by show day. They can be dropped off beforehand at Evelix Filling Station or Dornoch Stores.
