Golspie Flood Group co-ordinator Henrietta Marriott is to write to Golspie High School amid concerns about young people jumping over closed storm gates to access the village promenade during bad weather.
A local resident whose property overlooks the sea, raised concerns about the risky behaviour of some young people at a meeting of the flood group in Golspie Golf Club on March 4.
She said teenagers were jumping over the storm gates and going onto the promenade as the waves were lashing down over the sea wall.
"We need to talk to the kids about how serious this is," she said.
Another local resident present at the meeting said "screaming" teenagers were also running up and down the village's dilapidated pier as waves crashed over it.
"It is hilarious to them but not to anyone watching," she said.

The local resident also pointed out that there were no longer any lifebuoys on the sea front.
Mrs Marriott agreed to email the school to ask that pupils be warned about the dangers of going onto the promenade and the pier during storm events.
The flood group agreed that new signs should be put up on flood gates to remind people to close them and that lifebuoys should be provided along the seafront.
