Stornoway coastguard lifted the man to hospital.

A fishermen was flown to hospital after badly injuring his hand in an accident off Cape Wrath yesterday.

The alarm was raised at 8.30pm last night when the fishing vessel was 35 miles north of Cape Wrath.

The Stornoway-based coastguard search and rescue helicopter took the man to the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, landing around 10.30pm.

His condition is unknown.
