The first baby born in the Highlands in 2023 was delivered at home in Inverness.

Parents Rachel and Cameron celebrated the New Year in style with the arrival of baby Tommy on January 1.

Tommy was born at home surrounded by his big sisters Mila (8) and Edie (4) and big brother Rupert (1) at 6.23am,

Mum Rachel has praised NHS Highland’s community midwifery team for its support in helping her deliver at home surrounded by family.

NHS Highland has posted photographs of Tommy with his siblings on social media.

It said: "Congratulations to the proud parents and siblings and best wishes from everyone at NHS Highland!"
