Members of Assynt Bowling Club played in their first organised competition for almost two years on January 30.

The Gary Marris Trophy, which has not been competed for since 2019 due to Covid-19 restrictions, was won by Robert Taylor.

A round-robin format played over one day with two groups drawn from names in a ‘hat’. The winners of each group then played each other for the trophy.

The final pitted Roddie Kerr against Robert Taylor, with each playing ten ends to decide the outcome.

The trophy was presented Taylor by Gary's daughter, Debbie Bruce.
