A NEW manager has been appointed to the North West Highlands Geopark.
It has been announced that Fiona Saywell will replace outgoing manager Dr Laura Hamlet who is taking up a new role with Coigach Community Development Company.
Ms Saywell, a Drumbeg resident who has lived in the north-west for the past 20 years, is a geologist and brings with her a wealth of experience and skills to the post.

She began working in the north-west Highlands as a ranger in the summer months and went on to deliver outdoor and indoor learning programmes as well as helping to set up and deliver the successful Coigach and Assynt Living Landscape Partnership (CALLP) programme of projects.
She has also delivered interpretation tours at Knockan Crag, worked for Culag Community Woodland Trust as their project officer and with Assynt Development Trust on the Regional Land Use Partnership pilot project.
Ms Saywell said: "Thank you to the geopark team for their warm welcome and for all they have done to establish the geopark as an exemplar of a community organisation for the north-west Highlands.
"I am very much looking forward to continuing the work of the geopark charity together with the staff team and board of directors, to facilitate responsible and ethical community development through the cultural and natural wealth of our home."
Geopark chairman Dr Iain Young has welcomed Ms Saywell to the geopark team.
