Four films bring the Scottish outdoors and adventure-sports to Eden Court

The Scottish Outdoor And Adventure Film Tour brings an evening of exhilarating films to Eden Court on Wednesday.

Organisers say this first event which visits Inverness among four locations – with Edinburgh, Fort William and Glasgow – will celebrate the best of Scottish adventure-sports, athletes, film-makers and locations.

A blast of outdoor excitement is promised with the four films (150mins) that make up the one-night mini-festival at Eden Court Cinema from 7pm on Wednesday (April 19).

The films are billed as an evening of authentic, high-quality film showcasing the outdoor world. And the films look at featured athletes, their activities and also some stunning Scottish locations.

The films screening are Balance which follows international mountain runner Georgia Tindley as she attempts to find balance between work, life and training.

With The Seasons follows climber Callum Johnson tackling specific challenges as he looks to climb at Grade 8 level across the four climbing disciplines – E8 Trad, 8A Sport, 8A Boulder and Grade VIII Winter – over the course of 12 months.

The Martin Moran Round follows staff nurse Robin Downie trying to run the Torridon Hills in memory of his friend and mentor.

Guardians Of The Underworld is a short film following 21-year-old climbing prodigy Emma Powell, looking at her passion for dry tooling and her evolution into exploring ice climbing.

There will also be a live QnA with a panel of both the athletes featured and the producers of the films.

On the panel will be fimmaker Jimmy Hyland and Ryan Balharrie, both behind the festival, plus – featured athletes in the films, Callum Johnson, Robin Downie and Georgia Tindley.
