The pupil council of Farr Primary have thrown their generosity and community spirit behind a local toy appeal as part of their charitable initiatives this Christmas.

The children choose two charities support every year; a local and national one.

This year, Finley suggested that they support the Caithness FM toy appeal and the children duly voted for the cause as their local charity.

To support the appeal, the pupils created posters and spread the word via friends and family to let everyone know that they would be collecting.

Principal teacher Mrs Robson said: "I was delighted to see the children to continue to think of others at Christmas. I am always impressed at how the children think of ways to support others.

"Thank you to all the members of our school and local community who contributed."
