Far North Line train services between Caithness and Inverness cancelled by ScotRail
Two ScotRail services between Inverness and Caithness will be cancelled today.
Staff shortages are being blamed for the withdrawal of the 10:41 Inverness to Wick train and the return 16:00 Wick to Inverness service.
The rail operator has arranged for rail replacement buses to run instead, bringing longer journey times for passengers.
A ScotRail spokeswoman said: “This is due to a shortage of train crew.
“We have confirmed the following transport from Inverness to Wick:
* One 29 seater confirmed at Inverness at 10:41, provided by McNeils.
* One minibus confirmed at Inverness at 10:41, provided by Kineil's coaches.
* Due to the use of road transport your journey time will be extended and we apologise for the disruption to your journey on this route.
“The 16:00 Wick to Inverness due 20:14 will also be cancelled due to a shortage of train crew.
