Family of missing man (86) informed after body found near Kinlochbervie

The body of a man has been recovered after a major air, land and sea search in Sutherland.

Lochinver Lifeboat, coastguards and a coastguard search and rescue helicopter were all involved.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “The body of a man was discovered at Sheigra near Kinlochbervie at 2.40pm on Tuesday.

"The family of a missing 86-year-old man have been made aware. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances but the death is not being treated as suspicious."
