She has become an author at the age of 85 and is now a sell-out success.
Buyers crammed out Dornoch book shop last Saturday for the launch of retired nurse Ann Purton's autobiography Balloons, Bombs and Blessings.
Bookshop owner Maggie Hope, who encouraged Mrs Purton in the endeavour and typed out her longhand manuscript, said: "About 80 to 90 people came to the book signing with plenty more before and after the event.

"A total of 60 books were sold - some being orders as it was a complete sell out! We are having to print more books."
