Get into the festive spirit at Dornoch’s annual St Andrew’s Fair on Saturday, December 7.

For the second year Dornoch and District Community Association (DADCA) is running the popular Christmas event. All the shops and restaurants take part in the day with special offers and tastings of seasonal food and drink.

The social club is hosting the Christmas Bazaar from 10am-4pm, with 28 craft stalls crammed full of Christmas gifts for all the family. Customers will be able to buy original artworks, handmade gifts and real Christmas trees.

Bring your children to visit Santa who arrives in spectacular style on board East Sutherland Rescue Association’s lifeboat at 1pm and stays in his grotto until 3pm. All day Dornoch Primary School Parent Council and Allsorts After School Club will be serving delicious home baking, refreshments and home-made soup to raise funds for the groups to purchase educational resources and equipment for the local children.

Throughout the town you can buy raffle tickets to have a chance of winning a luxury Christmas Hamper (with goods donated by local businesses and funds going to Dornoch Academy Parent Council).

Finish your day at the Carol Service in the Cathedral at 3.30pm followed by local craic, mulled wine and mince pies. Then come out to see the magical Christmas lights that decorate the trees throughout the town.

In the town you will find “I’m A Celebrity Mitchell’s Special” at Mitchells Chemist where you can come down and join the team in the jungle and vote for your King or Queen after having a go at a Bushtucker Trial!

The Dornoch Castle Hotel will have their fire roaring and plenty of options for coffee, tea and hot chocolate from noon to 7pm. Cocoa Mountain will be hosting a chocolate tasting and invite Dornoch residents and people from further afield to join them for a lovely day of free tastings with wine and some bubbly.

Make sure to visit Kingcraig Woollens where they’re offering 10 percent off all stock and wine and nibbles (also on the 14th of December too!). Dornoch Stores will be hosting tastings and giveaways on some of their fantastic products all day too (and every other Saturday in December).

Don’t forget to come back to Dornoch on Saturday 14 for the special Christmas Market in the social club from 10am-3pm.
