Emergency forces closure of train line between Dingwall and Inverness





UPDATE: Train line reopens between Inverness and Dingwall after incident

Train services are either being cancelled, delayed or revised as an emergency has forced the closure of the line between Dingwall and Inverness.

The nature of the incident is currently unclear.

A spokesman for National Rail said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway between Inverness and Dingwall all lines are currently closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised."

Routes affected include Inverness and Dingwall / Kyle of Lochalsh / Lairg / Wick.

The disruption is expected to last until noon.

Rail tickets are being accepted on some Stagecoach bus services and replacement transport is in operation between Inverness and Lairg.
