Deadline approaches for nominations to eight Interim Community Councils across Highland to be submitted

THE Highland Council is reminding anyone interested in standing to represent their local community in the Interim Community Council elections that there is now less than a week to get their applications in.

This is the last opportunity in 2022 for eight Highland Community Councils to be formed.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted in person or by email to the appropriate ward manager detailed in the notice of election which is published on the Highland Councils website before 12 noon on Monday, October 10.

The eight community councils that are looking to form are:

Acharacle – membership 8 – vacancies 5.

Boat of Garten – max membership 7 – vacancies 4.

Conon Bridge – max membership 8 – vacancies 6.

Cradlehall and Westhill – max membership 12 – vacancies 7.

Culloden – max membership 9 – vacancies 6.

East Nairnshire – max membership 8 – vacancies 8

Melvich - max membership 8 – vacancies 5

Shieldaig – max membership 8 – vacancies 8
