A DWELLING in Easter Ross has been gutted by fire.

The blaze at the single-storey house near Ardross was called in at 3.47pm yesterday, according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).

The SFRS declined to confirm the exact address of the blaze which was described by Invergordon Fire Station as "ear Ardross".

Invergordon reported that both pumps were mobilised to the fire and that crews worked tirelessly to extinguish the "well-developed" blaze.

It reported: "Despite the efforts of crews from Invergordon and Dingwall the property was a total loss."

The SFRS control centre for the North said the last appliance left the scene at 7.33pm.
