East Sutherland Rotary Club speaker was the bee's knees

Honey producer John McMorran, who runs Brora Bees, was the guest speaker at the recent Rotary Club of East Sutherland’s meeting at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.

Club spokesman Alistair Risk said: "Rarely has a speaker shown so much enthusiasm and knowledge of his subject and John enthralled the audience with stories of the history of bee-keeping, the dangerous methods used by the natives in Africa and Aria to collect honey, the different types and strains of bees and the evolution of bee hives

And, of course, his own wealth of experience in bee-keeping and retailing honey. through Brora Bees

Mr McMorran sold a number of jars of honey at the meeting and donated the proceeds to the club’s Christmas hamper initiative.
