Two of Scotland’s most accomplished traditional musicians are returning to their roots to perform in community halls across the Highlands next month.

Duncan Chisholm and Hamish Napier embark on their Highland Halls Tour from the start of June and two Sutherland dates have been included.

The duo are performing at Strathy Village Hall on Friday, June 2; and Rosehall Village Hall on Thursday, June 15.

Duncan is one of the county’s most recognised and accomplished fiddle players and composers while Hamish is a folk multi-instrumentalist, educator and composer.

The concerts will feature much of the new music the pair have co-written for Duncan’s celebrated album Sandwood, as well as that of his latest release Black Cuillin.

Both Sandwood and Hamish’s solo work The Woods have won Album of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards in 2018 and 2020 respectively.

Duncan said: “Hamish and I are relishing the adventure of heading out into the rural Highlands. For us these intimate concerts are about connection. They allow us to connect directly with communities that we love whilst enjoying and connecting with some beautiful landscapes.”

Tickets for the Strathy Hall concert are available via eventbrite.com. To purchase tickets for the Rosehall gig, call 01549 475080.
