Drivers in Sutherland are advised to take care today with routes throughout the county affected by snow and ice.
In its winter roads report today the authority stated: “There is snow and ice on the majority of routes (in Sutherland) with snow up to four inches on the higher ground.
“All routes are being treated according to policy. No overnight issues have been reported.”
The information provided by the council on roads throughout the region is a “summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time".
A local authority spokesman said: “It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly, and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling."
