Two young girls hit by car in Wick

Police confirmed an incident occurred in Wick town centre yesterday afternoon in which two 13-year-old girls were allegedly struck by a vehicle.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.10pm on Wednesday, 17 November, 2021 police attended a report of a teenage girl having been struck by a car in Bridge Street, Wick.

“On arrival, it was discovered that two 13-year-old girls had been struck by the car.

“One of the girls was taken by ambulance to Caithness [General] Hospital where she was treated for injuries. The other girl did not appear to have any injuries.

“A 43-year-old man will be subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with alleged road traffic offences."
